About Us – New Zummar House | Copper Bell Artisans of Kutch

🧡 Our Story – A Legacy of Bells

In the quiet villages of Kutch, Gujarat, a timeless sound echoes through generations — the soulful melody of copper coated bells. Our bells, also known as Kutch bells, solo bells, or rustic farmhouse bells, are not just decorative items… they are stories forged in fire, love, and heritage.

New Zummar House was born in 1995, founded by Ramzan Hasan Lohar, a master artisan with over 30 years of experience. His vision? To uplift the community of bell makers and preserve the beautiful craft passed down for centuries. Today, this art provides livelihood to 100–150 LOHAR families — and each bell you buy helps sustain them.

🔨 The Process: How These Bells Come to Life

It begins with iron — hand-cut, shaped, and forged without welding. Then comes the magic — copper coating done with fire and love. Each bell is dipped in earthen water, layered with brass and borax, then wrapped in a clay shell and fired in a handmade furnace. Once cooled, the bell is cleaned and tuned by hand to create its unique, divine sound.

“Generations of craftsmanship, forged in fire and tradition.”

What once served as a way for cattle herders to locate their animals has now become a global décor piece — used as wind chimes, home accents, and cultural treasures.

Thank you for helping us keep this 500-year-old art alive. Your support means the world to us.
